How do you fix a ps3 that's disc doesnt work?

If your disc isn't reading, you can try cleaning it. If it is scratched up, then you can try to find a disc cleaner (Eg: Disc Doctor). The Disc Doctor can be bought at some electronic stores for no more then $50.00. It does a great job cleaning the discs and it get's rid of the scratches. I

Try flushing it in the toilet as odd as it sounds it has saved many disks for me. Dry with a soft, clean, lint free cloth. If that doesn't work find a someone in your area with a disk resurfacing machine like a movie rental or used game store.

If it will also not play the games you had it is the PS2 systems fault otherwise it is your disc. You should just replace it with a used or new PS2 is your system is not working and you do not already know how to repair it. Parts and Labor make repair of inexpensive electronics a poor investment even when you are doing the repair yourself. Not only will it take the time for the repair but you would have to learn how to do the procedure without causing more damage. It is worse for a PS2 with an excessive supply of unwanted products often available used as complete systems. You could also take it as a sign and get the new PS3 super slim when released for the 2012 holidays
