How do you get past those guys in the fight area that leads to the survival area?

Well, you have to finish the Sinnoh dex to go through there. But luckily you do not have to catch every Pokemon you just have to see every Pokemon. Good luck on finishing the sinnoh dex!(After you get the national dex and you probly have to catch every Pokemon.)

You can't battle your Rival in the Survival Area unless it's the weekend, the Rival will only battle you on Saturdays and Sundays once the Rival is in the Survival Area.

if you have beaten the league then on diamond/pearl he is every saterday and Sunday at the battle zone and on platinum he is at the survival area just next to the town center that too is each Saturday and Sunday

AnswerIn the battle zone there are 3 areas. The Fight Area,The Survival area and the resort area. When you go to the battle tower in the fight area, that and the survival area are for training. The Resort Area is (I think) Where your Pokemon get massaged. Wrong that's all wrong the battle zone is the zone to battle duh!
