You can usually tell if your book is a first edition copy. The pages would be more thick and a yellowish color.

That things back then are way different than now!! They would use there hands to work.
No is the short answer! As with several of Dick's other novels, Doubleday released an identical Book Club version of A Scanner Darkly shortly after the first edition. A true first should state 'First Edition' on the copyright page, and the code 'G51' should appear on page 216 in the lower right hand corner. Other than that, it's difficult to tell, so take care if you're buying the book off somewhere like eBay - I've seen several sellers (deliberately or otherwise) list it as a first edition when they shouldn't. Always ask about these points before bidding. As I stated earlier, Doubleday often did this with PKD's novels - Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch and Man in the High Castle are two other examples, making collecting Dick first editions a bit of a minefield if you don't know what to look out for. Hope this helps! Ryan

There are several ways to tell if a book is vintage or first edition. The best way is to look at the string of numbers on the copyright page. If the sequence of numbers contains a 1, it is likely a first edition.
It'll say on the card, just beneath the picture, if it is 1st edition.

On one of the first pages (after the title) it should say 'First Edition'
The Ohio State belt buckle by Tony Lama does not specify "first edition" on it. To distinguish between the first edition and regular edition, you can refer to the serial number on the back of the belt buckle. The first edition typically has a lower serial number compared to the regular edition.
If a card is 1st edition, it will say so, it will have '1st edition' written on it. The concept of 1st edition only applies for cards in booster sets, including Duelist Packs though - promo cards never have '1st edition' even if they were the first printing of that card.
The only way to know if a card is First Edition or Unlimited is by looking to the left of the Pokemon information right below the picture (See image below). If it has the label "1 Edition", then it is a First Edition card. If there is nothing there, then it is Unlimited.

Wild trout is less fatty. It is difficult to appreciate, at first, but after comparing the two, it will become evident with time.
