Obviously, if your PlayStation won't start, the amount of free space on the hard drive is the least of your problems. To make free space on the hard drive, you will need to get the PlayStation running.
You have to delete data from your PS3. If you have any games that you have sold or don't play, delete their save data and game data. To do this, highlight the game data that you want deleted, and hit the triangle button. Hit delete then yes. If you have music or videos or photos that are unecessary, you can follow the same procedure as above.
It is Hard disk extarnal connected to PS2 port it can be removed so it is removeble hard disk
At this time, the only way to increase the storage on your PS3 system is to purchase an internal HDD that will have to be manually installed. You can purchase external memory but only certain things can be stored on that such as wallpaper, music, and video content.
no it is a PS3 game
No the USB port can not download anything from the games portion of the HDD. It was designed not to be allowed so that copyrighted information could not be downloaded and transferred to another console.
sure any games you download from the store can be saved and if you mean your game progress that requires you to set it up for it. I just consider it a waste to play a PS1 game on a PS3 if you can not afford games they have free demos
i need help because i cant play a game. It says i need to make more space. So i want to know if i put a usb in the port will it make thhe hdd larger. as in have more space in it?

time to buy a new HDD for the PS3. I've had this problem before and I took the HDD out of the PS3 and was testing it in a PC, found a bunch of bad sectors. Bought a new HDD from Tigerdirect.com and it totally fixed the issue.
When I upgraded my HDD I bought an external HDD backed up ALL of the data on my PS3. Then I suppose you could copy that onto your PC. TO get it back to your PS3 system you would have to use an external HDD and just copy everything over. Or use lots of Memory Sticks.
Simply no bc the hdd`s content is encrypted to your ps3 serial number, so in other word just format it and begin all over.
Yes, it is possible to swap HDDs between PS3 slims and PS3 fats. Simply remove the hard drive from both your PS3s and switch them. All your saved games, music, and movies should all be on your Slim PS3.
That depends on what 'dead' means.
HDD is your computers storage space in basic words
