After much frustration we finally were able to remove the rear door panel from my brother's MB s500. The perimeter clips and obvious fastners were easy! The last two screws were hidden behind the wood grain panel behind the door grip. This panel was removed by sliding a thin "spatulla" (I made one from a hacksaw blade of which I ground the teeth off and softend the edges) Just slide the tool between the back of the woodgrain panel and the upholstery, feel the plastic clip (there are two of them), and lift up. Take out the two phillip's head screws. Hope this helps you? ps ~ you may want to lightly spray the window's weatherstrip (that touches the glass) with silicon, lets the panel slide upward more easily.
My 2000 LS has 3 screws along the bottom of the panel the first being closest to the back of the car and easily found. The other two are just above the weather strip on the bottom which if you get low enough you will see fairly easy. There is one screw on the rear of the panel near the top, it will be really easy to spot. There are 2 more screws in the door handle, get a flat screwdriver and pop up the cap from the side closest to the cars interior when door is closed(It won't pop off it will hinge). Once you get those two screws out the handle will be able to be popped out. Then remove the ashtray like fracture ,and pop the window switch out. One thing most instructions don't include is that there is one more screw behind the door opening handle, to get to this screw, you will have to carefully take a flat screw driver and pop the black covering plastic out; I suggest putting some layers of paper towels behind your screw driver so you don't scar anything. Whatever you do, don't try to remove the nice wood/marble trim piece as this is unnecessary. Do not apply too much pressure, but the plastic part will have to bend quite a bit disengage; only then will you be able to get at the last screw preventing you from removing the panel; then your ready to remove the connections. Once you remove the connections just pull steady around outside of panel all the way along and the clips will pop out one at a time. if any break don't worry you can pick new ones up cheap at any parts store and they slide right in. Don't go too crazy with it, try to pull at one area at a time, you will have to pull harder on some areas than others.
Good Luck
