You need to have a scanner. The ones that the repair shops use are far superior to the ones at the parts houses. The parts houses are there to sell parts. The repair shop is there to Repair the problem. Just because you get a code say for an oxygen sensor does NOT mean that it is bad. Something as small as a vacuum leak can cause the code. The parts house sells you the sensor you do NOT need and the repair shop repairs the vacuum leak and you keep your oxygen sensor.
