If you click start on your desktop and open the control panel, then click system maintenence. There should be an option for defragmenting your hard disk, click this option and follow the instrucions on how to defrag your computer. This should help speed up your computer. You can also save all of the information you need onto an external device like a few CD's, then re-format your computer, PROVIDING YOU HAVE THE SOFTWARE DISKS WHICH CAME WITH THE COMPUTER AND ANY OTHER IMPORTANT SOFTWARE DISKS. When you have saved all of your important information to an external device, you need to put in your windows Vista disk. Then restart the computer. It will say to boot from CD press a key... press one. Windows vista will now load files. Click that you want to install vista and wait for it to show you a list of all the drives on your PC, you may only have one. Once it shows it should show theres already vista installed click advanced and click format. Then select the drive and continue the installation.
PLEASE NOTE this will remove everything from the drive you format. including any programs/documents stored on the drive.

If the DVDs are unopened and have not been taken out of the original package and you have the reciept you should be able to return them. But you may only get a store credit.
If you have a backup from 2 months ago, restore it. Otherwise there isn't much you can do.

I think sims 3 can only be downloaded once. I bought sims 3 a few months ago, and I asked the cashie if I could return it if I wanted to, but the cashier said that once its on a computer, the code that you use to download is is no longer usable.
