Firstly, you audition in front of the judges and a live studio audience.
The next stage is bootcamp where you perform again for the judges.
Next is the "judges houses" stage. Each group (boys, girls etc) finds out who their mentor is and visits their home to perform again. Each judge is joined by a celebrity guest judge to assist in choosing the best contestants.
The next stage is the live shows. Each contestant performs each week and the public vote for their favorite. The bottom two perform again and the judges decide who they want to send home. If there is a "deadlock" vote where each contestant has the same number of votes from the judges, then it goes back to the public vote to decide who leaves.
