Jamie Lee Curtis was not in Halloween III. The original idea was to have a series of Halloween movies that each had their own storyline. It was not originally planned for all of the movies to be centered around the Michael Myers character. That is why the Halloween III storyline had nothing to do with the previous Halloween movies. When the movie was released, it was a major flop at the box office. Therefore, producers to decided to go back to the Michael Myers-centered storyline for subsequent movies.
