How does Hamlet show his complete contempt for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern?

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, who are old schoolfriends of Hamlet's are called upon by the king to spy on Hamlet in order to find out what is bothering him. Hamlet, however, figures out why they are there, gets them to confess it and tells them what he guesses to be their business. He then lets out some vague and quite misleading hints as to what is on his mind (the "what a piece of work is man" speech.)

Hamlet is suspicious by his two friends' appearance since he does not expect them to take leave from their education. This causes Hamlet to not tell the truth about his feelings. Hamlet was right though, his friends were sent by the King and Queen to gather details about him.

Hamlet uses humour to deflect the questions which Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and Claudius ask him. The best example of this is Hamlet dealing with Claudius's question "Where's Polonius?" in Act 4 Scene 3. Claudius asks it twice. The first time, Hamlet says "at supper--not where he eats, but where he is eaten." and the second time "in heaven--if you find him not there, seek him in the other place yourself." It is at this point that the 2000 movie with Ethan Hawke has Claudius knee Hamlet in the groin.
