He never died, he was in a coma; in the movie it seems the mention of his niece woke him up, but seeing as he never speaks he could have been awake for a while and just waiting for something to happen so he could escape.

∙ 14y agoWell at the end of Halloween H20, Laurie Strode/ Laurie Tate/ Michael Myer's sister decapitates what we all thought was Michael. In fact, contrary to all who watched Halloween H20, we are informed at the beginning of Halloween Resurrection that as the Coroner's were collecting his body from the mess hall in the school he awoke from his slumber and crushed the larynx of one of them. He then puts the coroner in a body bag and the body bag is put in the Coroner's van, which Laurie Strode then commandeers and drives off believing it is Michael, when in fact it is the coroner. Michael is shown wearing Coroner's overalls as she drives off.

∙ 11y agoRob Zombie himself admits that it was kind of a stretch that Michael would have survived a close range shot to the head with a .357, but he simply stated that "Lorie was under a lot of shock, so it may have been off center...she may have grazed him, whatever."

Rob Zombie was done with them after Halloween 2 being that his Michael Myers is based in reality and isn't essentially inhabited by some sort of malevolent spirit that allows him to remain alive. In his series, Michael was simply a man and he was mowed down with bullets at the end of the second one along with his sister Lorie, who may have kept the franchise going potentially.
