On Scheria, and Ogygia he is glad to be alive and curious about his surroundings.
On Ithaca, he is curious about his surroundings, and mildly doubtful that he is in Ithaca. He feels betrayed by the Scherians who promised to take him home, since he does not recognize Ithaca after twenty years.

The only way that Circe will change his men back, is if Odysseus sleeps with her, so he does, and his men are returned to their human form.
