The basic needs for a gorilla in the wilds is: * The males fight to dominate a female and mate. * Male gorillas are very protective of their family. Although they look gruesome they are rather gentle creatures with their family. * The female gorillas are very family orientated and raise the babies while the males forage for food. * Food is high on the list. * Finding better places to find food. * Finding good shelter that is safe. * The male is always on the alert for danger of any kind and basically stands on guard to protect the female, babies and any relatives. * Gorillas tend to each other's wounds. * The most important of all .. gorillas have to stay one step ahead of poachers and man in general. Some species are becoming extinct very quickly.
