How does george in Grey's Anatomy die?

He was on the way home from the hospital and a bus almost ran over a girl. He pushed the girl from out of the busses way, but the bus hit him and flattened him to the front. He didn't really have much of a chance. So sad.

Yea he does. He dies saving a woman from a bus. He dies because he dove in front of a bus while trying to save a girl who would have been hit without the help of George. George is taken to the hospital where he works and he is classified as a "John Doe" to start. Meredith eventually realizes the patient is George when he writes "007" on her hand (that used to be his nickname). George was rushed into surgery as soon as he was identified but he sadly died on the table.
