A theme is one of the more 'well hidden' elements of a work and (probably) would require an examination of the entire work to illustrate it. With this in mind I give you the following short shorts as a matter of convenience.
a)
Here lies the body of Micheal O'day
who died defending his right-of-way.
His right was clear
His will was strong
and he's just as dead
as if he'd been wrong.

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!" "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Both these stories (different as they are in many ways) have the same theme.
'Some things are more important than others.'
Characterization, imagery, theme, setting. I find those to be the easiest to use.

The theme of a literary work is the central idea or underlying message that the author is trying to convey to readers. The theme is not explicitly stated but can be inferred through the overall content and context of the work.
An acceptable thesis statement for a thematic analysis essay could be: "Through the exploration of [theme], this essay will demonstrate how [literary work/author] uses [specific literary elements] to convey [central idea/argument]." This statement should clearly state the theme being analyzed, the literary work or author under discussion, and provide an indication of the specific elements that will be examined to support the argument.

It often reflects a deeper understanding or commentary on human nature, society, or life in general. It serves as a unifying concept that ties the various elements of the work together and helps the reader to interpret its meaning.
