We admire their talent and good looks but forget that they are just as human as we all are. They have troubles and tragedies that all humans are subjected to. Griffith is no exception. Right off let's get one point straight and that is there were no "teens" in history. This term and age didn't exist until 1940. So, anyone who was beyond a baby was treated as an adult. Children at 7 or 8 began a life of work and most people were dead by the time they were 25. Life was short and hard. A slave's life was even harder and shorter. They worked endless days, were fed very little, and could be beaten if they didn't respond as it was thought they should have. This would have been the life of your "teen."

Quit messing around! You will never succeed in life!
