The Earth's tilt causes the changes in the seasons over the whole world, not just in New Jersey! When the northern hemispere tilts away from the Sun, the rays have further to travel through the atmosphere, and so are cooled - causing Winter. When the tilt is towards the Sun, the rays strike the Earth's northern hemisphere more directly, so is warmer - causing Summer. When it is Summer in the north it is winter in the south, and visa versa.

What is the difference between seasons and day and night?

Seasons refer to the long-term changes in temperature and weather patterns that occur over the course of a year due to the tilt of the Earth's axis. Day and night, on the other hand, are the result of the Earth's rotation on its axis, causing different parts of the Earth to be exposed to sunlight or darkness at different times. Seasons are linked to the position of the Earth in its orbit around the sun, while day and night are related to the rotation of the Earth on its axis.
