In the western world laws in the western world are considered fair. We have trials where we can confess our innocence and the opportunity to prove it. The punishment for being convicted isn't as harsh as it was in Babylon, because most of the western world doesn't execute it's criminals. In Babylon it would seem that they do. In the Middle East I would imagine that the laws are very much the same. Women treated like property, and greater punishment for even the smallest infractions.
