There isn't any way (yet!) to predict solar flares. However, since the sunspot cycle is finally ramping up from its long dormancy, we can expect at least moderate flares every few days for the next several years.

Solar flares cause absolutely no damage to the Earth, or to any of us humans and animals who live on the Earth.
However, our fragile technology is another story. Strong changing magnetic fields can induce a current in a wire; the greater the change and the longer the wire, the stronger the current. In the 1870s', at least one early telegraph station burned down because of a spark caused by current induced in the telegraph wires by electromagnetic storms.
Today, our computers, radios and satellites may be vulnerable to strong solar flares; at least a few satellites have been disabled by solar radiation. We've known about this for decades, but we're still not sure how well we have done in hardening our satellites against severe flares.
To be honest, an average flare and solar storm would have almost no effect at all; it would have to be a pretty strong storm to affect things. But we can expect at least a few outages of radio communications over the next few years.
The aurora borealis is caused by particles emitted by solar flares colliding with the atmosphere at the poles (charged particles follow the magnetic field).
Solar flares create charged particles which when they hit the Earth induce current in long electrical conductors (power lines).
A major solar flare could wipe out global communications, and possibly permeate the magnetic and ozone layers, which would cause harmful radiation to spread across the Earth.
This is sort of like asking when there will be a car crash. We can make rough predictions about the probability based on past history and observations, but we can't say things like "on July 27th at 11:32 am there will be a solar flare."
A solar flare will produce a burst of solar radiation that will travel through throughout our solar system. Earth is protected by its magnetic field; it stops all solar wind from destroying the planet so solar flares do not affect humans. However, some solar wind does enter the atmosphere. This produces the aurora.
There are generally solar flares every few days, and almost always within a week or so. Really spectacular flares are more common during the "Solar Max" period around the peak of the sunspot cycle. That will be in 2013 or so. You can see recent movies of solar flares and prominences at http://thesuninmotion.com/
There's not going to be a next movie.
No she will not return next season.
Usually there are one or two (more commonly two) solar eclipses every year. However, that doesn't mean the next eclipse will be visible wherever you happen to live.
On the bottom of the box of a Happy Meal, it tells you what the next toys are going to be.
It could destroy the earth, if it was a super flare. The next solar flare is in 2011 or 2012, but it wont harm the earth. It will mess up radios tough.
19th of march 2011 because i predicted it
well u see there would be uhh fire and stuff
Depending on what side of the sun it is on, a solar flare could simply disrupt some of the communications between Earth's satellites or do nothing at all.
No. The next solar eclipse will be a partial solar eclipse on June 1, 2011.
They don't. Next question, please . . .
There will be an annular/partial solar eclipse on May 20, 2012.
2019
March 5 2059
YES . THE NEXT TIME THERE IS A SOLOR ECLIPSE ALL ELECTRONICS ON EARTH WILL CRASH.!!!!! no! only solar winds/storms affect electronics
even though the sun looks small, it is very big and sends solar flares. if a flare hits earth, it will be violently bombarded. scientists, like me, believe that might happen next year (2012).
