How long should I leave my Samsung S7 phone in rice?

I have a Samsung s7. I was doing the dishes, right before bed, some water sloshed onto the counter and onto my phone. I dried it straight away, and tried to suck any water out that may have gone into the ports.
Straight after (5-10mins), I went upstairs and got ready for bed, plugging my phone into charge, as it was on 2%. A moisture detected message popped up, which was confusing as I was told it was water proof when I bought it, so straight away I took out the sim and nano cards and put it in a tubawear container filled with brown rice.
How long should I leave it in rice? Will my phone be alright? When can I attempt turning it on and charging it?
