Reginald Rose, who died in 2002 at the age of 81, won three Emmy Awards during his distinguished career as a writer. Two of them were for episodes he wrote for "The Defenders," the CBS legal drama he created that was one of the most honored television series of the 1960s. His other Emmy was for his teleplay "Twelve Angry Men," which aired in 1954 on CBS' "Studio One in Hollywood."
