They sold 1.7 million models in the few months the PS3 was released in 2006, but Sony FY for 2006 ended in March 31 2007 and they had sold 3.5 million models by then.

Xbox 360 had 57.6 million sales up to Sept 30 2011 since the release on November 16 2005
