Asoka chakra is the name of the wheel on the flag of India
The chakra is called Ashoka Chakra because it has been derived from Asoka Pillar. The Ashoka Chakra contains 24 spokes which signifies that human must be ready to work for 24 hours of the day. It is in the centre of Tiranga ( The Indian National Flag).
With an orange stripe on top, a White in the middle and a green one on the bottom. Also with a wheel shape in the middle, representing Asoka the Great, on of the kings of India. The symbol is called 'The chakra'
There are 4 colours on the flag of India. A light orange or "Indian Saffron" which is located at the top of the flag. White which is located in the middle of the flag, which contains the royal blue "Ashoka Chakra" and the bottom of the flag is the colour "Indian green".
Before independence the national flag of India was a tricolor flag with a spinning wheel at it's center , after the independence spinning wheel was replaced with a wheel known as Ashoka chakra also known as dharmachakra . Indian national flag was designed by Pingali venkayyaiah .
