As of December 2012, GD has 8 known tattoos so far. His first tattoo is one that says, "Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die" and it extends from his back to over his right shoulder. He also has one on his right forearm that says "Vita Dolce" and one on his left forearm that says "Moderato." Vita dulce literally translates as life sweet and moderato is a piano term for moderate. So together his forearm tattoos say "Moderate Sweet Life." GD explains this as "living a sweet life moderately."

GD added two tattoos to his original 3 in mid 2011. His fourth tattoo is a famous icon by Keith Hering. It appears to be an animated heart with four legs walking on a street, and is below his Vita Dulce tattoo on his right forearm. His fifth tattoo is a Dragon Ball with 8 stars from the famous Dragon Ball Z series. That is over his left arm pit.

After Big Bang's 2012 BIG SHOW GD was spotted with an additional 2 tattoos. One says "Forever Young" and it is going down his right side. The other says "Mind Control" and it is on his rib cage underneath his left pec.

GD also added an additional tattoo around September 2012. This tattoo features two Xs over his naval as to appear to be a face, XoX. This tattoo was seen as early as in his Crayon music video and was confirmed to be true in its third public appearance during the 2012 Big Bang MAMA performance.
