Struck By lightning.
Unless you count the lightning rod poles on top of the building, then no the tower itself has never been struck by lightning.
That the Donnelly's house has been struck by lightning three times
He was struck by lightning while in his lab and was in a coma for 9 months and gained super speed.
At least 10 - 26 per year even though it is said to be more likely to be struck by lightning.
His kite-in-a-lightning-storm experiment, and most likely after witnessing what happens to buildings that are struck by lightning.
Benjamin Franklin is said to have "discovered" electricity by flying a kite in a storm with a key attached to it, where lightning struck the key.
One inventor of the lightning rod was Benjamin Franklin. Another was a German priest, Diwisch. Both appear to have made their inventions in the same decade, around 1753. See "Who Really Invented The Lightning Rod?", The Electrical Review, volume 32, 10Feb1893, p.146.
Benjamin Franklin discovered the effects of electricity when he flew his kite during a storm in 1752. While flying his kite lightning struck the kite.
Benjamin Franklin used a kite with a metal key attached to the string during a thunderstorm. The lightning struck the key, traveled down the string, and charged a Leyden jar or bottle that Franklin held. Franklin conducted this experiment to demonstrate that lightning is a form of electricity.
Benjamin Franklin did not discover electricity when his kite was struck by lightning in 1752. In fact, electricity was already well known at the time. Instead, Franklin was trying to prove the electrical nature of lightning. He discovered lightning was electricity and that electricity was found naturally in nature. Yes, lightning has struck close to me before.
No it wasn't. Do you think Benjamin Franklin just went out when a thunderstorm was happening and decided to fly a kite? No. Obviously not. He went outside, during the thunderstorm, to find out if electricity came from lightning. And as so it did. He got struck by lightning.
Albert Einstein was never struck by lightning. This is a common misconception.
Benjamin Franklin proved lightning is electricity by flying a kite with a key tied to the string. The lightning struck the kite, went down the string and made giant sparks when it hit the key!
