You have to fight her once, but you can optionally battle her twice more, as well. The second encounter is in Wah Lava Caves, if you kill a dragon-type enemy and examine an 'X' on the ground next to to a flower (the only one in the caves). The third encounter is had by examining six pillars in the Mandolin Church Grotto, in the area where you find a weapon for Frederic. You then leave the Grotto and find a note in one of the pews in the Church proper. Once returning to Baroque, you talk to a man in the Wine Cellar of the tavern, and answer option 3. This will initiate the third and final Dolce battle, where she will drop her treasure, a Peace Earring.
