Yes, coin sets are far more valuable than the values of the individual coins on their own. How the sets are presented is also important in assessing their value. A coin set, though, is usually more than a disjoint collection of individual dates, although partial sets can be worth more if kept as a set.

According to wikiHow, Pokemon cards are worth different amounts, depending on how old the cards are, as well as what cards are becoming popular at the current time. The site suggests choosing cards that are either part of the newest card sets, or choosing cards that are very rare or of limited print. It is also recommended that anyone deciding to sell their Pokemon cards should first visit eBay to see what people around the world are bidding for each individual card.

There are 270,725 sets.
Not sure what they are really worth since they are not in high demand much. But they are somewhat scarce since most were probably thrown away or used in bicycle spokes. I have seen some cards for as much as $10 or more on web sites but I do not really think they are worth that much. As they say though, the cards are only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. I have several cards from all the early 70s by Fleer but completing sets is kind of difficult. Look in a Beckett Football Guide magazine at your local bookstore (Borders or Barnes & Noble has them on the racks) and see if they are in there. You can also look them up in the yearly annuals published by several companies in the sports sections of the bookstores too.
I have lots of these same sets since my wife worked for Shoney's back then, but I have seen them for sale on another site for only $6. As with anything, though, they are worth as much as anyone will give you for them.
The UBP1 secret rare set usually goes for about £25, and LOB Ultra Rare set goes for around that much too. Other sets are cheaper, especially common DB1 limbs, and Master Collection heads.
Not much. 1989 is well after the "collector" market was in full swing, so lots of people bought complete sets and put them away in the expectation that they'd someday be worth what complete sets of, say, 1970 Topps cards were then worth. A rough estimate for a mint condition set would be around $50, most of which comes from the Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card.
There is no way to answer this without knowing which sets you are referring to. Hundreds of coin sets have been issued, with a wide variety of prices.
It depends on if the sets are Proof or Uncirculated and the years of the sets. Post new question.
