Evolution is a slow process, significant change usually takes millions of years, not thousands.
Computers have changed dramatically over the years since they started. They have become much smaller, much faster, much more powerful and much more flexible. Many new methods of input and output have been introduced and improved. They are much easier to use.Software used on computers has also changed and they now provide many more facilities which can be used more easily. They changed partly because of demand but largely because of technological advances. Home computers can now be produced for the equivalent of maybe 200-300 dollars. These are much more powerful than computers which 50 years ago might have cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Homes 100 years ago were very simple. These homes did not have television, fancy lighting, or computers in every room.
