Since February 28, 2002, the markka is no longer the legal tender currency in Finland. The country adopted the euro in January of 2002. So using the euro as the official currency of Finland, one euro is the equivalent to 1.36 US dollars (as of March 25, 2009). If the markka was still the official currency of Finland, XE reports that a single US dollar would be worth about 4.385 markka (as of March 25, 2009).
