How much money did women make in the 1960s?

I remember in 1990 I was making $24,000 a year as a newspaper reporter... my mom said no one in our family had ever made that kind of money, she said my dad provided for our family of four on about half that, or $12,000 a year. I asked how that was possible, and she asked, "You didn't notice we had the same furniture for 20 years?"

this would have depended on what type of employment they had. forinstance workers by the hour between 2 and 3 dollars per hour, salaried employees approx $40.00 per week, again depending on where they lived and worked.

I earned 50 cents an hour for babysitting; my job in the late 60s paid $1.60/hr. I worked most of a summer in a store for $150. But, $3 would buy me a tank of gas, so there's a little perspective involved.
