it only eats at night so... basically it eats every night
I have an Owl that visits my back yard and porch at all times of the day and night, it was here from noon til 1 pm and then again @ 3pm and back again @ 6 pm and has now been on my porch again today from 8 pm to this very moment 9:29 pm.
It likes Turkey lunch meat and water. Also likes bread broken into small pieces and it lets me get close and moves right up to my hand as I put the food on the porch rail...Likes it's Foto taken all day and night too,not afraid of the flash at night.Very gentle bird around me...I think it's a Barn Owl but am not sure...

∙ 15y agoOwls need to eat when they feel hungry, usually once every 24 hours, however some owls can store a good supply of fat for several weeks, also, if the owl has had a large meal, it may not feel hungry for more than 24 hours.
