Dex-Cool, the orange coolant formulated for certain GM vehicles, should typically be changed every 5 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. However, it's important to check the vehicle's owner manual for specific recommendations, as maintenance intervals may vary based on driving conditions and vehicle usage. Regularly inspecting coolant levels and condition can help ensure optimal engine performance and prevent potential issues.

Originally it would have had "DexCool" and it should be flushed and changed every 5 years or 100K miles.
unless someone has changed it your Alero has Dexcool in it. Dexcool is available at any auto parts store or Walmart.

Dexcool
About every 36000 miles or so. Even thou you have DexCool, which is recommended every 100k miles, don't do it. DexCool is death for a engine. Wish GM would just get rid of it, and go back to the good old reliable antifreeze.

It uses Dexcool.
The correct coolant is DEXCOOL it has an orange color to it. If your coolant is green the coolant has been changed. It has been found out that DEXCOOL was bad for Aluminum heads and gaskets. Best to switch to the green coolant.
According to my dealer, it should be changed at 150,000 km.
Passwords should be changed every month.
