The indigenous people of Congo reaction to colonization was brutal. They were forced to labor and in return the indigenous people killed a lot of the officers, and they also burned down the forest in attempt to stop the harsh labor treatments.
First of all, there are many nations in Africa. The Indigenous people of Africa found it difficult to cope with the harsh terms imposed upon them by the British Imperialists. However, it really depended on who they were, in terms of level of education and understanding as to how this could help various African nations develop economically.
Most Africans were supremely angered by the process of colonization and the actions of the colonizers, especially when they were needlessly brutal such mutilation of workers' hands in the Congo Free State. However, a significant subset felt that colonization was a net positive, bringing industry and modernity to the African continent.
