Not entirely sure, but it sounds like your talking about a lunar eclipse. This happens when the earth, moon, and sun are aligned so closely that the earth's shadow hangs over the moon entirely. In this scenario, we see the moon with a reddish hue/color. This is an effect of gravity, believe it or not. As light passes the earth, earths gravity draws the light towards it, bending light rays (and subsequent photons) towards earth. Because of wavelength differences, the color red bends more than others and thusly paints our moon in that hue.

You may also be simply inquiring about simple full moons. This is possible due to the fact that the moon isn't normally blocked from the sun by earth. As in, if your where to be on the moon, you would be able to directly see the sun even when on the "night-side" of earth. The Earth and Sun operate on a similar orbital plane, or flat surface, while the moon orbits earth on an entirely different, constantly changing plane. This is the reason we can observe partial moons (full moon, half moon, crescent, etc.) When the moon is unobstructed by earth's shadow, we see a full moon. When our moon is partially in and the earth's shadow, we see a 3/4, half or crescent moon. When the moon is fully within earth's shadow, we see a lunar eclipse, or a red moon.

When the Moon is between Earth and the Sun, we see its dark side. That is called "new moon". You won't see the new moon late at night, only right after sunset, or before sunrise, since its direction is near the Sun.

What causes the 24 hour change in the sky?

earth completes a full rotation on its axis and thats why we have day and night because of much direct light earths getting from the sun

Does the moon have day and night if so why?

Just like the earth, the moon has a side that faces the sun (day) and a side that faces away from the sun (night). During a full moon, the side of the moon that faces the earth is lit by the sun and appears in daylight whereas the side of the moon that faces away from the earth is in shadow (night). During a new moon, the opposite is true. The side of the moon that faces the earth is in shadow (night) and the side that faces away from the earth is exposed to the sun (day).

How day and night take place?

Night falls onto the sky, as if the moon is crushing the light out of the horizen, but the Sun comes out of the horizon, as if breaking through. Makes sense if you think about it.

When the Sun and Moon are out at the same time is there no Sun and Moon out on the other side of the earth?

they are always out at the same time so yes but it is scince we are tilted they can also see it. _________________________________ Except at the full Moon, there is always a period at night when the Moon is not visible; either it has already set, or has not yet risen. At the new phase of the Moon, the Sun and Moon are pretty close in the sky, and the Moon isn't visible at all during the night.

Is this a correct sentence a sudden flash of light in the night sky.?

"A sudden flash of light in the night sky." That isn't a sentence at all, since it has no predicate (verb).

How come the moon reflects the suns light and things on earth dont reflect the suns light?

The moon reflects the suns light and things on the eart do notreflect it because it is at an angle in which the light does not reach earth. So if the light falls on the earth at night there would be light but because it not reflect it on earth it is dark at night.

A total lunar eclipse cannot be seen by everyone on the night side of the Earth.?

You can see a lunar eclipse just not a solar. Lunar is when the moon turns orange from a lack of light, when it's behind the earth, then light reflects off of other planets. Solar is when the moon is in between the earth and the sun, blocking light th o the earth
