Doors on each side and no windows
From 1995 to 2001 Ford Explorer 4 doors it is a rotary dial on the left side of the CENTER STACK of the dash. From 2002 to 2005 Ford Explorer 4 doors , there are 3 vertical push buttons on the right side of the CENTER STACK of the dash From 2006 on, Ford Explorer 4 doors, there are 3 horizontal push buttons on the CENTER STACK of the dash located above the heater/ air conditioning selector dial. You probably have a door sensor out, they detect whether or not the doors are closed, so the car thinks a door is open. It is a little button that gets pushed in by the front of the door by the hinges. They are cheap and easy to replace.
Our both doors have become stuck on our kia carnival 2001 model and it is the rollers they slide on dont know why thay have done it but they cost about $150 each to fiix.
You probably need to repair the door handle and the lock

Suicide doors would have the hinges mounted on the right side of the door if your looking at the drivers side, left side if your looking at the passengers side. Butterfly doors would have the hinges mounted on the top.

This is obviuosly a circumstantial question. It depends if the door needs to be replaced. If this is the case expect around a grand easily. Impossible to say for sure without seeing it.
I'd call it the "back door" because we call the other 4 doors "side doors" with position located nomenclature, e.g. front passenger side door, back passenger side door or driver side door or back driver side door. Some vans have two back doors: left and right back doors .
