When it comes to fixing broken PS2 consoles replacement with used complete systems should be considered. You can often purchase a complete system in used condition for just the price of the games and accessories that you want or vice versa. The cost of getting someone to repair it or buying parts and tools and learning procedures can often be higher than just buying one of the many used PS2s on the market

The answer from what is YLOD has been added to this question in it's entirety. Basically the PS3 YLOD is a hardware fault on the motherboard, sony claim that there is no single reason behind yellow light of death but as a rule this is due to the cheap solder that sony use. When your PlayStation has been on for prolonged periods of time it will reach high temperatures causing the solder on the motherboard to melt, as it cools (when you turn it off) it cracks causing a faulty connection. The term YLOD stands for yellow light of death, after this has happened to your PlayStation any attempt to turn it on will result in it beeping and flashing from green to yellow and finally flashing red.
After you download it from the Playstation Store you install it. If you did not get it from the Playstation Store you buy it from there
