How zero and Stanley was able to survive after running from camp green lake?

They survive because when Stanley steals Mr Sirs truck and runs away, he finds Zero. By this time Zero had found a thing called 'sploosh' (parts left from the peaches) and they ate them. They also found Sam's onions and it rained earlier so they drank water from the top of God's Thumb.

∙ 11y agoZero was a ward of the state, and after he ran away, the Warden thought the easiest way of dealing with him would just be to delete his file to avoid any controversy. However, when the lawyer came to pick Stanley up and asked to see Zero's file, the Warden then had nothing to offer, including any proof that Zero was supposed to be there in the first place. So the lawyer was able to take Zero home along with Stanley.
