As long as the child has a solid foundation and family values then the child should turn out fine. They need to be in a loving and caring environment to achieve a good outcome. Who says a father cannot provide this. The stereo typical man is a modern day myth, as men have had to adapt to the absence of female traits. Men are now the father and the mothers of families.
Often the child need a male or female role model in life but that does not have to be a parent. It can be a friend or extended family. Of course being at the age of 10, right before puberty, will cause a lot of emotions. Anger, sadness and many questions. How the individual handles it depends on the child and the surroundings.
