Robert Heath Dennard, of the IBM TJ Watson Research Center in 1968 invented RAM
The first computer RAM was invented by Freddie Williams and Tom Kilburn in England in 1946 using CRTs similar to those used in laboratory oscilloscopes of the time. The memory was electrostatic and required refresh like modern DRAM. The main difference between their memory and modern DRAM in operation was that addressing and refreshing required analog deflection amplifiers instead of being completely digital.
