In final fantasy 10 the game stops but doesnt freeze at the Sin battle it shows the boat but the wheel keeps spinning and doesnt trigger the battle?

Give It Some Time It Will eventually stop. I gave it 20 minutes and nothing changed. I'm just going to get a knew copy. After i cleaned the disk i got past the battle but froze at the next cutscene.
