check the condition of the terminals and wires for the connector, look for green or white corrosion and splits, cracks, or breaks in the wires. Exposed copper will turn green or will seem to have a coating on it and will eat its way far into the wire, clean the connections well and scratch the connector terminals till you can see good copper, and replace any corroded wires.

Often this type of behavior is caused by a bad ground for the lighting circuit. Check the ground circuit for the brake lights.

How do you wire a towbar to a 2001 vw beetle?

The tow bar comes with a color coded wiring harness. The tail lights, blinkers, and brake lights are hooked up to a terminal near the trailer hitch of the towing vehicle and then the tow lights are plugged into the socket for the car lights. There are four wires. The brown is the brake lights, the green and black are blinker lights, and the white wire is the ground wire.

Usually the ground wire that comes out of the headlight that is fastened to the car body is the culprit. You will usually find the wire terminal from the headlight plug attaching to the car body or chassis ground not too far from the headlight. Fairly common problem.

2001 Pontiac sunfire daytime running lights not working and hi beam headlights turn off all headlights?

Had the same problem. Found it to be a bad ground wire for the headlights. There are two ground wires for the headlights, both are directly below the battery. You can see one of them if you remove the drivers side headlight. It is right behind the radiator hose. The other is a few inches from that one.

How do you fix a daylight problem on a 1993 Nissan Sentra where one headlight is turning off after a few minutes?

not sure if this is the answer but have you checked to see if you have a ground wire that is loose or the connection is bad? as a bad ground connection will give you less voltage to the headlight/headlights and they will be rather dim. check your connections to make sure they are snug.
