It appears to me that in preparation for the games that follow, the warrior walked between the rows of people and those people would reach out and touch the warrior they were "cheering" for. You'll notice, not all people touched Alex Cords character and the same is true as other warriors came thru. At the end, Lana's character reached out to touch Grey Eagle and he stoped and noted her touch, showing she favored him for the games. I am guessing of course, but this is what it seems to me as I have watched this movie several times over the course of several years. Not the best western movie ever made or best acting - but LOVED the nobility of Alex Cord's character, his complete devotion to his Chief and as a female of course gotta say - he looked darn good, bet those abs were not painted on.
