In twilight why did Tyler told everyone in school that he is taking Bella to prom?

Because edward was speaking to tyler on the phone and it was obvious Tyler was at Bella's house to pick her up for prom, as he had deluded himself into thinking she wanted to go with him.

Because it would add some anxiousness to the viewers. And it wasn't in the twilight book. Since the movie has removed almost all the scenes in the book and tweaked some backgrounds with some of the scenes in the movie. The directormust've thought of another ending, right after Edward and Bella kissed, because Victoria would be appearing in New Moon and in Eclipse as the antagonist avenging her mate, James.
