1984 is a post modern novel because throughout the whole novel it leaves the reader questioning what is real and what is not. Is big brother real? Is the war between eurasia or eastasia? Is there even a war? No one in the novel can really trust reality. All the people have been bombarded with information regarding big brother, the past, and the future and it becomes difficult to differenciate what is real vs what is fake.
