Not neccessarily. Blu Ray only effects the screen resolution of the movie you are watching. EG, the more lines (like Blu-ray) the better. It doesn't matter what type of movie it is, it's still going to be the maximum resoltion possible. So in the case of older movies that weren't widescreen, they are still going to be in the same format, blu-ray or not.
