No, Real life is not that boring and redundant.
Because that was the REAL Moulin Rouge built in 1899 it later became a theatre in 1900

Harold Zidler was a semi-fictional character based on the real managers of the Moulin Rouge, Joseph Oller and Charles Zidler. (ref. www.moulinrouge.fr/historical)
No. It was a fictional story and, according to critics, one of the worse films to ever be made in the USA. If you want a real horse story that's a true story, try the film/book called Black Beauty.

Scarface
First of all it is Moulin Rouge- which is pronounced, admittedly, like Mulan. The title means Red Mill ( a factory of some kind) in French. It was the theme song of a movie by that name- I can"t break the spell, the spell that I"m under) which has occult sonneries so it is generally called ( on record labels, albums, etc)- Song from Moulin Rouge. Piaf may or may not have recorded the song. The movie was about the famous French Artist Toulouse-Lautrec, who was handicapped with a hunchback condition . In a very real sense- Like (raindrops) it was a theme song with little import to the plot!
The story of Rachel Stein, as told in the novel Black Book, is not based on a real woman. A film based on the book was released in 2006.
yer, the actual ship and the story but the film (jack and rose etc) is fake!
