Is Shikamaro better than Choji

Although Choji can be a very powerful character, Shikamaru would not be easy to beat seeing how he is VERY smart. It would be a close match but Shikamaru would probably win since Choji couldn't kill one Pain with his father and Kakashi, while Shikamaru came up with the plot and defeated the immortal Hidan with help.

This could be looked at both ways though, it would all have to come down to the circumstances. Shikamaru mentions at some time that if he ever had to fight Choji, he was immediately forfeit because they are such close friends.

Krillin. It's called bukujutsu (he can fly). since shikamaru's shadow possesion jutsu can't come off of the ground, krillin has the uppehand and can take to the skies. besides, even the original krillin from the original dragon ball series was fast enough to kill shikamaru before he got the chance to use his jutsu. Akira Toryama made the Dragon Ball Z characters so strong that hardly anyone from any other manga could beat them.

well everything is right except for the part where you say hardly anyone from any other manga could beat them well its not true bankai ichigo with the hollow mask on with his partners uryuu, chad,rukia,and orihime together could probably beat kid trunks but kid trunks had to be alone and could not transform if he did that then ichigo and his team could have a 59% chance trust me

Obviously yes. Shika-Chan is way much cooler he's a genius remember? His analytical personality makes him stands out minus the lackadaisical behavior though. I kind of disagree though, remember what Shikamaru said about Choji? That Choji was better than every one in the group?And what about Choji surviving when no one else could when ever he took the last pill?Most people would of died.Instead he kinda turned into a butterfly.It doesn't matter,Shikamaru is good with coming up with plans and strategies, but Choji is good with attacks.Remeber when Choji escaped with the rest by using Choji's Human Boulder and Shikamaru's strategy?Choji was the only one able to break through that wall.
