Prior to 1990 apartheid reigned over the South African landscape. However, since its apolishment Blacks, Whites and all hues of the spectrum have been integrated into what is now termed the 'Rainbow Nation'. Having said that the legacy of apartheid can still be seen in the inability to self govern, inadequate infrastructure, high levels of unemployment and poverty.

In summary, South Africa is no longer an apartheid nation but its legacy still lives on.
