There was going to be one and it was lined up for the fall of 2011 but due to Kevin Williamson's commitment to The Secret Circle, the spin off has been put on hold. It's likely there won't be one, and if there is, it won't be anytime soon.

∙ 12y agoNope although the books were written by the same author(l.j. SMith) they are completely different, and both amazing shows(my favorite) and books. The CW is my fav channel

The difference from The Vampire Diaries and The Vampire Diaries: The Return is that the return is written more recently and the characters have cellphones and more modern things they didn't have earlier, and it picks up a month or so after where Dark Reunion left off. Hope that helps ;)
