honestly at first it isn't. You really have to have a taste for literature. I read the book a good three times and then fell in love with it. Whe i read it only once, i had to constantly look for context clues, read between the lines, learn a whole new vocabulary- it was alot. but i read over and over. And it truly is one of my favorite books of all time. If you're not a reader- don't read it, just see the 2009 movie version of it. The movie is great too.
